2012/13 Block of the Month Quilts
The Unveiling of the 2012/13 Block of the Month Completed Quilts
Last Friday night we held a function at Pioneer Patchwork to reveal the completed Block of the Month quilts from the 2012/13 program.
Lots of ladies arrived for wine and nibbles to see the unveiling.
Here are the photographs of the three completed quilts.
The first one is made of the twelve blocks pieced in reproduction fabrics. Each block is surrounded by a narrow red strip and four caramel triangles so that it is set on point. The blocks are then sashed and bordered with a wonderful reproduction paisley border print.
The second one is made from the vintage blocks. Ingrid designed and appliqued a beautiful centre block for this quilt. The thirteen blocks are set on point with three different sashing colours and pieced side setting triangles.
Here is a close up of the applique block: a pretty posy of flowers tied with a bow. Applique has turned edges and embroidery is done in Perle 8 thread.
The third quilt is the one made from the twelve blocks of black and white fabrics with a red background. We are very pleased at how dramatic this quilt looks and it would be most suitable for the man in your life or a teenager.
The finishing instructions for all of the above quilt settings will be included in the Month 12 package of everyone enrolled in this BOM program, along with the pattern sheet for the applique block.
Here are some photos of the lovely ladies at our unveiling:
