'Remember Us' - Poppy Bag Workshop

We've just set a date to make this beautiful Poppy Bag 'Remember Us' with Ingrid
Saturday, February 14th 2015
10am - 4pm, $55 for the day.
A kit is available on request.

The poppy is appliqued using Ingrid's easy freezer paper method, it also features bead embroidery and if you haven't learned how to do a pistil stitch, Ingrid will teach you. The bag also uses a new double sided fusible batting called 'in-control plus'.

January Finishing School
Almost a tradition at Pioneer Patchwork - our January finishing school. Come and join us for a day or more and finish your 2014 projects before the workshop season in 2015 starts.

Marg Low - classes and trunk show

Marg Low will be here for a one off class on Monday the 8th of September. She will be teaching two half day classes 9.30 am to 12.30pm and 1.30pm to 4.30 pm. The cost will be $40 per class you will receive two patterns along with the class.You can choose from the pictures below what you would like to do, Marg has chosen these projects especially for you to be able to complete it or almost complete it in the class.
If you can't make either of the classes, she will also be presenting a trunk show at 6 pm where you can come and have a cuppa or a glass of wine and some nibbles while Marg does a big show and tell. Her patterns will be for sale after the trunk show. The trunk show has a small cost of $5, so come along and have a great time. Give us a call at the shop and put your name down for either of the three events or be bold and come to all three :-)

Vicki Porter is one of our regular teachers at Pioneer Patchwork. She teaches classes on the 1st and 3rd Thursday of each month. No set projects, you pick anything from Vicki's wide ranging portfolio. The classes run from 10am - 4pm and the cost is $55.00 per class

Katrina will teach and demonstrate machine applique techniques including buttonhole stitching, zig zag stitching, invisible blind hem stitching, fused raw edge applique and turned seam allowance
machine applique. She will use these beautiful placemats to demonstrate the above mentioned techniques

10 to 10 class!

Our recent 10 to 10 class was a day with lots of laughs and lots of fun. Lots of sewing was accomplished, heaps of pinwheels disappeared and squares were slashed. Judy even got all her blocks finished and centre put together! What an achievement.
Looking very much forward to the next class in August.

New reproduction prints

We also just received a few more lovely reproduction prints. The ranges are Prairie Stitches and American Gothic from Marcus Fabric. These are great to start the upcoming Hunsford class in or add to the quilt tops you're finishing off from the first round of classes. Or why not make a quilt in reds, creams and blacks and use the ever popular disappearing nine-patch block technique. Available in fat quarters and yardage - at the shop!

New 10 to 10 class!

Another date for a 10 - 10 class has been organized. It will be on the 30th August 2014.
Cost will be $100 for the day, which includes lunch.
Projects for the day will be either the disappearing pinwheel quilt or the stack and slash quilt from last year. Kits are available.

New flannelette range

Just in time to make a cosy quilt for winter, we received the new flannelette range 'Bonsoir' from Marcus Fabrics. It comes in beautiful rich and saturated colours and has such a soft and warm feel to it. The range is ideal to make his and her quilts.

Pioneer Patchwork at Campbelltown Patchwork and Quilters Guild

I was invited to give a presentation to the Campbelltown Patchwork and Quilters Guild at their April meeting. The ladies got a preview of our new Block of the month program (which is a Christmas project, because I love Christmas) and the response was fabulous. I had the chance to present our upcoming classes, workshops, kits and patterns. It is always exciting to present to a group of like-minded ladies (and Paul). A big thank you to Vicki and Julie for accompanying me and helping with the presentation and sales table.

New Block of the month program

Our new Block of the month program is taking shape!
A little different to the previous programs it is not an actual block of the month, it is a row of the month, and because I love Christmas, it is a Christmas project.
Stars, Santa hats, Stockings, Reindeers, oh so cute......
And because it is only a 6 months program, you could have it completed just in time :-)

Tea Towels, Tea Towels, Tea Towels, who doesn't love them!?
Well, we here at Pioneer Patchwork are now stocking tea towel fabric in two great colors; Red & Cream that can be made into place mats as well! By adding a little embroidery of your own onto it or your favorite fabric swatches you can spruce them up a bit and personalize them.
